A Dear Jerry letter
I have always been a Cowboys fan, and I will always be a Cowboys fan.
We had a bad season, but, the way I look at it, we missed the playoffs by only one game. Yes, we need to fix some things, but we had some positive things happen. We can build on those. I'm behind Jerry Jones, along with a lot of other fans - if he thinks Wade Phillips is the best coach for our team, then I do, too.

A post-mortem on 2008
What are the odds that some coach, any coach, could guide the boatload of talent on this Cowboys team to a better performance than we were served this year?
I'd say somewhere north of 90 percent. So, who ya gonna call? Mike Holmgren. I know he wants a rest, but what coach would pass up the opportunity to be on the short list of coaches winning Super Bowls with two different teams?
I'm sure Jerry Jones thought he was signing the next Brett Favre, but if things don't change soon, he's going to realize he got Jake "the Snake" Plummer instead.

Cowboys fail from the top down
I've never played or coached Football at any level. All I've done is be a Cowboys fan for the last 43 years. But I am still mystified why Jerry Jones could possibly think of Wade Phillips as a coach worthy of the Cowboys franchise.
After watching that pitiful lack of desire and focus on the part of my team last Sunday, I am left wondering why.
But then, problems like those always start at the top. And no, Jerry. I'm not talking about Wade. I'm talking about you.

Game was a real turnoff
The game played last Sunday by the Dallas Cowboys against the Philadelphia Eagles was so bad that, for the first time since 1960, I turned off the game at the half.
I saw individuals who obviously had no offensive or defensive game plan playing against a well-prepared Football team.
Jerry Jones needs to do the players and fans a favor and hire a general manager and a good coaching staff and let them run the team.
The only decent thing Jones did for the team was to hire Jimmy Johnson. And then Jones fired him when Johnson got the well-deserved praise for turning the Cowboys into a dynasty. Since that time, it has been all downhill.

Cowboys struggle with mediocrity
The Dallas Cowboys passed away last Sunday after a 17-week battle with mediocrity. Their plight serves as a warning to other teams: Beware of false hopes and premature expectations. After all, there is no pouting in Football.
A wake will be held in their memory. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Bring Mike Holmgren to Dallas fund.

So close - and yet so far
OK, so the Cowboys got shellacked by the Eagles in a crucial game, but keep this in mind: Dallas is only an owner, head coach, quarterback, offensive coordinator, defensive secondary and offensive line away from being a Superbowl contender.
