Dallas Cowboys Notes, Quotes 2008-12-19
--If the Cowboys win this week, they can clinch a playoff spot with plenty of help. A Philadelphia loss or tie and an Atlanta loss would do the trick. So would a Philly loss or tie along with a Chicago loss or tie and a Tampa Bay loss. So would an Atlanta loss along with a Chicago loss or tie and a Tampa Bay loss.

--Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis is not that impressed with Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.

"Tony Romo, he's an up-and-down quarterback," Lewis said. "You can see him. Sometimes he can get blazing hot. He can make the same throws off (his) back foot and the same throws throwing sideways. And then sometimes he doesn't. Sometimes he makes those same throws and they're huge mistakes."

Lewis said the key against Romo is pressure.

"I think the thing you can't do is just sit back there and let him be comfortable, because Dallas, of course, has a lot of weapons on the offensive side of the ball, as well as defensive side of the ball," Lewis said. "But, you read about Terrell (Owens), or (Marion) Barber, or (Jason) Witten, all these guys. He has a lot of playmakers on his side of the ball, so to let him sit back there and pick and choose, I think that's where he's most successful. People that have had success against him have really made him not sit back there comfortable."

--QB Tony Romo didn't attend Terrell Owens' celebrity birthday party on Monday because he is still bothered by a bad back. He said he was laid up for the past two days. It had nothing to do with the family feud between Owens, Jason Witten and Romo that was revealed last week.

BY THE NUMBERS: 11 - Number of opponents Dallas' defense has held to under 100 yards rushing this season. That includes each of the five past foes.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "I do. Yes. Yes, I do. He's a good player. He's a hard worker. He's certainly addressing any league issues and you put all that in the thought process and I see him back." - Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on whether cornerback Adam Jones will be back with the team next season.
