
George Strait will headline the festivities at the opening of the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington on June 6.
Also on the bill will be Reba McEntire , who performed at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo on Monday; Blake Shelton , whose latest No. 1 single was "She Wouldn't Be Gone"; and two-time "Dancing with the Stars" champion Julianne Hough , who topped Billboard's country and Top 200 charts with her debut album.
Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 28 at Ticketmaster. The $1.1 billion Dallas Cowboys Stadium will seat 80,000 and can expand to 100,000.
"I grew up in South Texas and have always been a Dallas Cowboys fan," Strait said in a statement. "I have a lot of great memories from playing the many shows we did at Texas Stadium, as well as watching America's team win their share of Super Bowls."
He won his first Grammy for best country album with "Troubadour" Feb. 8. On April 6, he will receive the artist of the decade award from the Academy of Country Music during its awards show (he is nominated for four).
"We wanted one of the greatest entertainers in the world to open what we believe is going to be one of the greatest sports and entertainment venues in the world," Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said in a statement.
