There may not be a best player in the 2009 NFL draft.
The NFL can't seem to decide who the best quarterback is, Matthew Stafford or Mark Sanchez. It can't seem to decide who the best blocker is, Jason Smith or Eugene Monroe. Or who the best running back is, Knowshown Moreno or Beanie Wells. Or the best pass rusher, Aaron Maybin or Brian Orapko.
In all of those debates, the opinions are split. No one player stands out above the rest at his position, much less the draft board.
Rick Gosselin of The Dallas Morning News ranks the top 10 players in the 2009 NFL draft.

Cowboys will make pick around 9:30
The NFL draft begins at 3 p.m. Saturday. Without a first-round pick, the Cowboys' first selection comes in the second round, No. 51 overall. Allow 10 minutes each for the 32 first-round picks and another five minutes each for the first 18 picks of the second round, and the Cowboys figure to be picking at around 9:30 p.m. Can owner and GM Jerry Jonesreally sit still that long and do nothing? quot; We're going to put him in a straitjacket, quot; executive vice president Stephen Jones joked.
