Time to get organized for playoffs

Time to get organized for playoffs
The fantasy Football regular season ends for most leagues this week.

Congratulations to the savvy general manager's who grinded out a playoff berth or a divisional title and good luck to you guys who are in the position that you have to win and/or get some help to get into your leagues playoffs. And so long to the GM's who battled this strange, injury-riddled season and came up short.

To the business at hand; the collective gasp from fantasy owners everywhere could be heard when Marion Barber RB (Dallas), was injured in Thursday night's game. Barber's breakout season has him rated as the third best running back behind surprise Matt Forte (Chicago) and new superhuman Michael Turner (Atlanta).

For GM's who are in a must-win situation you need to approach this week as if it is week one of the playoffs. Based on your match-up, there are two main approaches: First, play your regular starters. The downside to this is that by now you know how many points your team averages per week and you know your opponent's averages, so if you feel that your chance to win is good this may be the best option if not you must go for option two, the haymaker. If you're playing a team full of All-Stars and you are in a must win and you know it's a long shot, instead of playing your regular player or take injury risks focus on players who are known for having the big week who have favorable week match-ups. Players who fill that role are Kevin Walters WR (Houston), Darren McFadden RB (Oakland) and Trent Edwards QB (Buffalo).

This week's shine and pine are three locks for player who are undervalued but are viable for an upset bid and players that you think you should play but will not lead you to the playoffs.

Pine: Jason Campbell QB (Washington), Steve Slaton RB (Houston)

Shine: Tyler Thigpen QB (Kansas City), Derek Anderson QB (Cleveland), Fred Jackson RB (Buffalo), Leon Washington RB ( New York Jets ), Anthony Gonzales WR (Indianapolis), Dustin Keller TE ( New York Jets ).
